WOD Life Balance – Ivan Flugelman 3/3
HERE IS SECOND PART OUT OF THREE OF IVANS STORY
READ 1st one HERE
It is hard still to find consistency, but I must say, that I am at a point now where I feel that with the community, the friends I make every day at the box, and the support of the coaches,
I don’t care, I just want to go and have a good time and if I make a PR or not, it will be something little extra gift to a previous victory.
I am far from recovered, and balancing a new family, work and life, it is very easy to let go certain aspects of your life such as diet, exercise and self-care. It takes time and effort to keep all these pillars in balance, but with the support of a great community and the peer pressure of the guys from Sunday’s Open Gym, then when the moment meets the opportunity,
I will be in the right place at the right time to increase my deadlift PR, or get ready to finish Fran in less than 6 minutes (RX)...or just to have the strength when I really need it in any aspect of my life. All my love to the ESCAPIST crew, the members which a lot are my friends and my family obviously that is always welcome at the box.
COACH RICKARDS COMMENT:
I am very grateful for the story that Ivan shared with us and it means a lot to hear how our efforts can help people in so many different stages in life.
In Ivans case, having kids of my own, I can strongly relate to his story and also going through a big transition while having my first kid it gives me a reminder of how grateful I am to have a healthy body and mind and not the least a healthy family.
Ivan, I remember first time you came to our box and it was actually at the first time not for training but for talking with us and I recall getting exited to get you to start training with us. Since you did not sign up straight away it reminds me also how we all go in stages in our fitness journey and I hope I can be at your side for many years to come.
